The Zone Tax Offset is a tax concession introduced by the Australian Tax Office (ATO) for people who live and work in remote areas of Australia. To qualify, you must have lived or worked in a remote area (not necessarily continuously) for 183 days in the same financial year or continuously within two financial years.

As many oil rigs, mines and gas fields are based in remote parts of Australia, you may be able to avail of this relief.
