Orla Twomey
Chief Executive at Advertising Standards Authority
Orla Twomey is Chief Executive of the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA). She has held this role since January 2016. Prior to that, she served in a number of roles in ASA including that of the Assistant Chief Executive between 2004 and 2015.
Orla leads corporate strategy and policy, executing multi-faceted programmes at national and European level, particularly those associated with exponential growth in digital marketing. ASA is very active within a number of sectors, including influencer marketing, and continues its engagement in a bid to ensure the highest possible standards of advertising in Ireland, regardless of the medium involved.
In conjunction to her role with ASA, Orla is also the Chairwoman of the European Advertising Standards Alliance (EASA) and a member of the EASA Executive Committee and Board. She has served as Vice-Chair of EASA as well as Chair of the EASA’s Self-Regulatory Committee and has served on varied Working Groups including Gambling and Online Behavioural Advertising. As EASA Chairwoman, she is a member of the Executive Committee of the International Council for Ad Self-Regulation. She was also a member of the Board of Ringsend and District Credit Union between 2012 and 2015.
Orla has a first class honours Bachelor of Business Studies (Hons) degree, with a specialisation in Marketing, from the Institute of Public Administration (IPA), awarded by the National University of Ireland.
Alan Cawley

Alan is Founder & Director of Marvel the Agency. Alan has worked in the advertising and media industry in Ireland for over 12 years. He has deep experience in media planning, buying and client servicing, having worked at a senior management level for some of the biggest global agency networks in Dublin. His knowledge spans both traditional and digital media for cross-industry clients that span some of the biggest brands in Ireland.
Previously, Alan spent many years working in an influencer agency in Ireland, managing campaigns and engagements across a large portfolio of talent. Alan understands that having a great reputation and being easy to work with are both essential for success in this industry. Prior to that, he worked in digital sales for TV3 (now Virgin Media Television).
Alan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in PR & Communications from IT Carlow and a Post Graduate Diploma in Digital Marketing from DIT.
