How do I claim my Feriepenge (holiday pay) refund?

In order to apply for your Feriepenge refund, you will need to receive a letter from the FerieKonto (National Fund for Holiday Pay) at the end of your employment.

This letter states:

  • How much holiday pay you have
  • How many days of holiday you have
  • Which employers have paid holiday pay

Next steps:

  • Simply, register with Taxback
  • Share your document with us
  • We will manage all the paperwork for you
  • And transfer your refund straight to your bank account.

Holiday money (Feriepenge) refund FAQs

You can claim your holiday money refund from May of the year following your year of employment.
If you are claiming a holiday refund for a previous year, you can apply now.

The holiday year in Denmark runs from 1 May after the year of employment to 30 April of the following year.

If you did not receive a letter, it may be because FerieKonto:

  • Doesn’t have your current address. Please make sure you give your correct home country address to the registration office before leaving Denmark
  • Hasn’t received holiday pay from your employer
  • Your employer is registered with a different holiday payments scheme

On average it will take about two months to receive your Danish holiday rebate.

Once we get your documents, it will take us just a couple of days to prepare your claim. This involves receiving your documents, checking the details and sending your documents to the FerieKonto.

Sometimes it may take longer to get your refund due to internal delays at the National Fund for Holiday Pay (FerieKonto). But don’t worry, our team will keep in regular contact with the FerieKonto and keep you up-to-date on the progress of your application.
