For 2014 you should submit your application by 30/04/2018.
For 2015 you should submit your application by 30/04/2019.
?When is the Danish tax year?
The Danish tax year runs from January 1st until December 31st.
?How much money will I get back?
On average our clients get a refund of €1,200, although the amount you get back will ultimately depend on your individual circumstances.
?How long will it take to receive my Danish tax refund?
On average it takes 3-4 months to get your tax refund from Denmark. But ultimately it depends on how busy the Tax Office is.
?What steps are involved in getting my tax refund?
After we receive your tax refund application, we will review your documents and send them in to the tax office. Once there, the tax office will review your case themselves and process your refund – this bit takes about 3-4 months. After that they will send your refund out to your Nemkonto (registered bank account).
?It seems like my tax refund is taking a long time. What’s going on?
Sometimes your tax refund can take longer to get to you due to delays in the tax office. In these cases, we will ring them up regularly to see how quickly things are progressing. If your refund is delayed due to missing documents, we will inform you straight away in order to get them from you and speed up the process.

?What documents do I need to file my Danish claim?
To file your Danish claim, we will need your:
1. Årsopgørelse
2. Employment Contracts from all employers
3. Permanent Address Registration
4. Your completed tax pack
5. A copy of your ID
?What is an Årsopgørelse?
Your Årsopgørelse is the official government document you get from the Danish tax office by May of the following year. It outlines all your earnings, how much you’ve been taxed and any tax deductions that you have. If you don't have it, it's no problem - our document retrieval team can source it out for you.
?What is a Nemkonto?
Nemkonto is your personal bank account that Danish Tax Office has for you on file. We can help you provide non Danish bank account to the Tax Office. For advice on how to organise it email denmark@taxback.com.
?What is an employment contract?
Your employment contract is the form signed by both you and your employer which outlines the conditions of your employment. You should receive it when you start working in Denmark, and we will need it to claim your tax refund. Make sure you hold on tight to it though because we are not able to get a replacement for you.
?What is a Permanent Address Registration?
This is a form that states that you have been registered at a permanent address in your home country throughout your employment in Denmark. If you don’t have this, you will need to get one from the official government service that deals with them in your country (every country has a different one). For advice on how to organise getting this document, email denmark@taxback.com.
?What do I do if I lost my documents or never received them?
If you don’t have your Årsopgørelse just let us know by emailing denmark@taxback.com and for a small additional fee, we can find it for you.
?Can I do it myself?
Technically, yes you can. Every tax office in the world is able to accept applications from taxpayers, but it’s not as easy as it looks to organise everything. You’ll have to decipher complicated tax code, find any documents you’re missing and wait for months for the tax office to tell you whether or not you’re due a refund. At Taxback.com we’ve been filing tax returns for seventeen years so at this point, we have the tax code memorized and can file your tax return quickly and easily. Not only that but we can contact the tax office at any time to see how your application is progressing. So if you want to spend less time worrying about your tax refund and more time thinking about what you’ll spend it on, use Taxback.com.
?Can you guarantee that I'll receive the refund amount you estimated for me?
No, unfortunately we can’t. The final decision is up to the tax office, but our free refund estimation gives a good prediction of what you may get back based on the same factors that the tax office looks at.
